Internships

Each semester, CAWRI hires a set of interns who are passionate about women and children’s rights and believe that accessible education and health for women and children can have profound impacts on a nation. Internships are unpaid, but university credit can be earned. Upon successful completion, CAWRI will provide letters of recommendation and references. Interested applicants should email us at contact@cawri.org including a cover letter, a resume, and hours and dates of availability.

 

Responsibilities of Social media/ Web development Interns:

  • Updating website content using WordPress
  • Raise awareness of the organization through social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter

  • Assisting fellow interns in projects and fundraisers
  • Documentation of work on google drive
  • Think critically, be dependable, punctual; be able to work both independently or as part of a team
  • Hours per week: 24
  • Currently enrolled as a sophomore or higher in a 4 year degree program or a recent college graduate

Responsibilities of Junior Development Interns:

  • Organizing innovative fundraisers, profit shares with restaurants, including contacting vendors, identifying a venue, raising awareness of the organization, and locating sponsors for an event/events etc. for CAWRI’s projects
  • Writing blogs based on current events affecting women and children, current projects, etc.
  • Identify grant opportunities, deadlines related to entrepreneurship and development of women
  • Canvassing local universities for students interested in our work
  • Outreach via email, phone, in-person with members in the community who support the cause
  • Attend events related to the cause in the area
  • Documentation of work on google drive
  • Think critically, be dependable, punctual; be able to work both independently or as part of a team

Responsibilities Of Senior Researcher and Development Interns:

  • Create research and development pillars based on goals of the organization
  • Think critically, be dependable, punctual; be able to work both independently or as part of a team

  • Currently enrolled as a graduate / PhD student in sociology, women’s studies, gender equality, human rights, education, community economic development or related majors
